Classical “Background” Music

This is some of our repertoire that we have on hand to be played as background music for any event of formal nature. (Weddings, Cocktail Parties, etc.) Other pieces are added and rotated in as needed, but all pieces will have the classical background music aesthetic that only a string quartet can provide.

  • Eine Kliene Nachtmusik Movement 1 – 4 (Mozart)
  • Divertimento in D Major, Movement 1 (Mozart)
  • Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 Movement 1 (Bach)
  • “The Bird” String Quartet (Haydn)
  • Symphony 15, Movement 4, Presto (Mozart)
  • Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach)

General Wedding Overview

Pre-Ceremony

Music will be played as your guests take their seats before the ceremony starts. This will begin 30 minutes before the announced ceremony start time (can be adjusted upon request).

Processionals

Music can be played for the seating of the parents, the entrance of the wedding party, and the entrance of the bride. Some popular piece choices for Processionals are:

  • Cannon in D – Pachelbel
  • Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring – Bach
  • Wedding March – F. Mendelssohn
  • Here Comes the Bride – Wagner

Note: There can be a different piece selected for each of the entrances, or no music at all. We will work with you in making sure that the right music is chosen and organized in the order that is desired.

Recessionals

Music will be played to conclude the ceremony as the Bride and Groom, Wedding Party, and guests depart from the ceremony location. Most often an upbeat piece is preferred, and some examples can be found below.

  • Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 – Bach
  • Spring, Movement 1,  – Vivaldi
  • Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring – Bach
  • Wedding March – F. Mendelssohn

Reception

Music can be played during the reception, as desired. We will pull music from our standard classical repertoire to perform at this time, unless specific pieces are requested.
